Stronghold Crusader

Stronghold is a medieval computer game where you build castles and farms for your people. Before you make your crops, you need make a storeroom to keep all your food in. Next you’ll need to build an armory to keep all your swords, shields and your knight’s army. After that you’ll need to build some gates and walls to protect your kingdom. You can hire some people to make catapults to destroy your enemy’s walls and conquer your enemy’s land. You can have allies that could send food and building materials plus some gear for your army. The only problem with some allies is when you’re under attack and you call for help, they sometimes don’t help you. Most of the time your ally asks for some materials and if you don’t give them anything, they’ll keep on asking until you give them what they want.

Some enemies threaten to attack you like Pig and Wolf. Those are some people who you’ll meet in the game. Some good allies to have is the Lion king and Sahar. They both have great armies. At the start of the game you could start with 2,000 gold coins, 8,000 or 20,000 gold coins. If I were you, I’d start out with 20,000 or you’ll suffer since you don’t have any money. If you have no money, your people will leave your kingdom and you’ll be all alone. Stronghold is a very fun game.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Once there was a baby named Harry, who survived the killing curse (avada kadava) by he-who-must-not-be named (Voldemort). Harry is a wizard in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is in his fourth year in the Tri-wizard Tournament. He was chosen by the goblet of fire. Harry has to compete in three deadly tasks. Harry fights Voldemort in a graveyard in the last task. I think this movie is suspenseful because Harry doesn’t know how he is in the Tri-wizard Tournament. Watch it and find out.

If you like it then try to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!

The Enderman

Endermen are a type of monster from mine craft. Mine craft is a game where you can build and collect things eg. houses, buildings, etc. In survival mode you have to defeat monsters. An Enderman is one of these. All monsters have a special power or weapon. The Enderman’s power is he can teleport and pick up blocks. This power makes them extremely annoying because they can steal your blocks.

Endermen have a very peculiar way of getting provoked. As well as being attacked, Endermen become hostile when players look at their upper legs, torso or head. This occurs even when players are 64 blocks away!! That’s a lot of blocks!!

Endermen appear frequently in The End, their home world. They also spawn in the Overworld, although only about 10 times more rare then normal zombies. They spawn in pairs and can be seen regularly at night in groups of up to five.

Endermen have glowing purple eyes, long limbs, a thin body, and are 3 blocks high. When aggressive they will open their mouths and their bodies will shake violently. A distinct sound will play when an aggressive Enderman is rushing towards you. When they do teleport they tend to appear behind the player.

What I did for IST’s Got Talent

I made a stop motion video for IST’s Got Talent. It was a Lego stop motion Star Wars Wipe out movie. It took a long time to make the movie. Mr. Mikey helped us with the sound effects and the music. Jaden Mahler, Emerson Chism, Sawyer Chism and I did all of the moving of the characters and the I did the photos. We all built the set. It took us at least 500 photos. I felt very proud of myself for doing this.

The Cobra Lily

How it eats
Cobra Lilies are plants that eat meat. Cobra Lilies attract bugs to its mouth with nectar. The bug crawls on the cobra lilies’ fangs, which are two leaves. The victim is lowered to the lips with hairs that prevent escape. The liquid then drowns the bug.

Where it lives
It lives in places with as much humidity as possible. It lives in western California and Oregon and needs as much water as possible.

Wipeout! episode 2 part 5

Wipeout is a course made by two men named John Anderson and John Henson. The most popular obstacles are the Big Balls and Sucker Punch. Other obstacles include the Slippery Stairs, Swing Of Faith and Dreadmill. There are Wii games on Wipeout. People are competing in Wipeout but I think they get very hurt in it. So don’t try to compete in it. I play wipeout a lot on Wii because it is fun and safe.

The Brief Trip to Neptune

“Gromit, you have to try this new invention I made,” said Wallace.
Wallace gives Gromit the new invention.

“MM,” said Gromit, “Wallace how did you make it? It feels like clouds when you put it in your mouth.”

“Well, you will see when we get to Neptune,” said Wallace.

In a few hours they were making a rocket that could go through the asteroid belt. So what they did was they made a little teleporter that could send them around the asteroid belt. At the end of the third day, they were so tired but they had to go into space the next day.

The following day they set off but had forgotten to take containers to put the invention in, so they could bring some back with them to earth. If I was them, I would be so mad at myself. It was too late to go back now so they just had to continue.

So off they went higher and higher up to the sky zooming past Mars, Jupiter, and many more things like black holes, satellites, a meteor and even a nebula in the distance until at last they got to Neptune!! Gromit was the first to get out.

When he got out, he saw all around him, the same thing that Wallace had invented. Gromit immediately started gulfing it down as he thought it was cotton candy. Wallace got out of the spaceship. They were having the lifetime dream of walking in cotton candy!! After eating cotton candy for two hours they realized that there were UFOs parked in the sky around them. From then on they were terrified and ate cautiously.

Then they saw something strange in the distance. The first sign of nepblobs was little huts made of rocks. The first one they saw was one that had ten eyes.
The first thing they did was scream, “AAAAAAAAA!”

When more nepblobs came, Wallace and Gromit shoved as much cotton candy as they could fit in the rocket and went storming home in their rocket. It took them many days to get back home. On their way back they past the other outer planets, which are Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter. They had a fab time at home because they had so much cotton candy with them to last a decade and they lived happily ever after, eating cotton candy for every meal. Even though they went for ten hours it felt like two years!

Food That Fools You

This may look mouth-watering, but if you chomped down on it, your taste buds would never trust you again.

The food stylists and the photographer have many different tricks up their sleeves when they put this food on platters. For a fact milk on cereal is just white glue on cardboard so the cereal won’t get soggy. A banana may just have a thick coating of lemon juice over it. I don’t think you would want to be biting your teeth into this ‘delicious’ food anymore!

Super Soapy Milk
A glass of milk might look freshly poured, but really, it might have been standing there for an hour. Food stylists add dish soap bubbles just before the shoot.

Nice Ice
The ice in a glass of lemonade may look refreshing but they’re really just $50 hand-carved plastic blocks.

Cranberry Delight
That thirst-quenching cranberry juice looks very good, but it is really just water with red food coloring.

Hot Potato
A spud might look piping hot but all the steam came from a wet cotton ball in a microwave oven hidden behind the potato. Squishy margarine was used instead of real melted butter.

Paper Stuffed Chicken
Only partly cooked chicken is set out in front of you. Otherwise its skin would get wrinkled and burned. It may have looked delicious on T.V., but in your mouth it tastes like blubber. Just so you know, its also been painted with a special mixture of brown. It’s also stuffed with paper towels.

Waterproof Bread
You don’t want to chow down on this bread. It’s been coated with a special spray that most people normally use to protect their car interiors from water and sun. Stylists use it so the bread doesn’t dry out.

Icing Cream
This delicious looking scoop of vanilla ice cream is really what is covering your cake, just mixed with powdered sugar. That way it isn’t about to melt under the bright lights when the camera clicks.

Super Strawberries
Mmmmm. You can’t wait to sink your teeth into that strawberry, right? Well here’s a fact for you. The reason those strawberries look so red is because their white spots have been coated with lipstick till they shine.

From now on I hope you think twice before you order something off of a food advertisement, or else.

Mine craft is a computer game. The goal of the game is to build things like a house, skyscraper etc. Mine craft produced this song and music video using characters from the game. The song is about Creepers attacking Steve. Creepers attack people because they are monsters.

Watch how the character gets his revenge. And Creepers are green monsters that explode. The singer is a Mine craft character. I like it because it has a lot of action. Mine craft is a fun game that is fantasy.

How To Get Something From Your Younger Sibling

Do you want something that your younger sibling has? Well have no fear! I am here to show you how to get it. This depends on what age your sibling is. If your sibling is 13-20 years, well then this is useless to you. Goodbye! But if your sibling is 4-12 years, then read ahead!

The first step to “borrowing” your sibling’s whatever is to get something cooler. Now, if you don’t have anything cooler, then make what you have LOOK cooler. This is simpler than you think. Because you are the older person, the younger person will want what you have if they think it is cooler. So all you have to do is make it seem like it is cooler!

How To Make Your Thing Look Cooler:

1. Say “Hey! Look what I found! My ____”
2. Play with it or take it everywhere you go (if possible)
3. Say “Did you know that this ___ has made me cooler?”
4. Say “I love you” to it every time she/he is there

Now if you are successful in making your younger sibling think that your ___ is cool, then you are ready to go on to the next step. The next step is to trade your ‘cool’ thing for what you want from your younger sibling. Now to do this successfully, you first need to get you and your sibling together in a room (with the thing you want). Then you ask “Do you want to make a deal?” You say this in the most serious way possible. If they say no you say, “Too bad, you were going to get my ___.” After you say that, they should say yes. If they still say no, then you can’t continue. When they say yes, you say “How about I give you my ___ and you give me your ___?” Now, if they say OK, then you’re done! Congratulations!! If they say no, then you walk away like you don’t care and say OK. Then maybe they’ll say Ok. But if they don’t… then sorry.

Well I guess this is …..

Sploder is a type of website where you can create your own game but you need an account. In this game you’re able to make levels that have power suits, fire trolls and robots. When you press test level you’ll see how much fun Sploder can be. You could challenge your friends with your game to see if they could win or lose. You can even add in some cars, swords, and shields. You can make up to 10 levels with lava, water and weak floors. You can even add in lives plus blasters to help you defend yourself when attacked. The hard part about Sploder is learning how to play it because you have to know how to play it when you test it or you’ll die. Sploder is a game that you can learn how to play, but it can sometimes be hard or easy. In Sploder you can even invite your friends and play multiplayer but you both have to have a Sploder account in order to play. When you play try to make it easy enough for you to beat or else you’ll get sad that you can’t beat it. If you can’t beat you it, you should just try again or make your game again.

IBDP VisualArts Final Exhibition

williamInterview with Ms Nora Graham, IB Art Teacher and her IB Art student, William

IBDP VisualArts Final Exhibition 2013 at IST Secondary Campus

Q: How long have the students been working on their projects?
William: Depends on what students are doing and what media they have chosen for their project. For example painting takes a week, sometimes longer. This piece for example, took me a long time about 6 months – it is a portrait that I used both paint and charcoal to create this piece.

Q: What is the purpose of the Final Exhibition?
William: The Final Exhibition is the way we students get to show people what we have been working on over the past 2 years. The work we have on display are pieces that we have produced from research that we have done and for our course work in class.

Q: Can we come see your student’s work?
William and Ms Nora: Yes! Please come. Tuesday, March 26th from 5 to 7pm in the IST Secondary Campus Library. You are invited to see all the work students have produced – there is a lot to see. William’s work will be displayed downstairs in Secondary Campus Library.

Q: Can we join in – will there be opportunity for us to do art with your students?
Ms Nora: Unfortunately there will not be opportunities for interactive art this year BUT I really like your idea and maybe we can work on something for next year. Please do come a support our students. They have worked very hard to produce amazing art!

Thank you William and Ms Nora.
